This painting is a kind of false diptych, the two paintings may seem identical and yet they are not. It is by paying attention to the details that we can discern the differences. What seemed to be something is in fact another. I guess this can also apply to our relationship with life and the things around us. Sometimes the difference between good and bad is subtle, just like what we should do or not do, a direction, a choice, a different thought can change destiny, a spark is enough to redefine us.
Ce tableau est une sorte de faux diptyque, les deux tableaux peuvent sembler identiques et pourtant ne le sont pas. C’est en prêtant attention aux détails qu’on peut discerner les différences. Ce qui avait l’air d’être quelque chose en est en fait une autre. J’imagine que ceci peut aussi s’appliquer à notre rapport à la vie et les choses qui nous entourent. Parfois la différence entre bon et mauvais est subtile, tout comme ce que l’on devrait faire ou ne pas faire, une direction, un choix, une pensée différente peut changer la destinée, une étincelle suffit à nous redéfinir.
