As usual, the sculpture was guided by the veins of the stone, its colors and from these constraints appeared the forms. So there are three faces, three directions that ultimately form one. The finished sculpture made me think of the three Graces / Charites, from Greco-Roman mythology. Three goddesses, of beauty, nature, creativity etc…the fact that they look in three different directions would mean that these things (beauty, nature, creativity) could be found everywhere and in everything.
Comme à l’accoutumée, la sculpture a été guidée par les veines de la pierre, ses couleurs et de ces contraintes sont apparues les formes. Ce sont donc trois visages, trois directions qui n’en forme qu’une au final. La sculpture achevée me fit penser aux trois Grâces / Charités, de la mythologie gréco-romaine. Trois déesses, de beauté, nature, créativité etc … le fait qu’elles regardent en trois sens différents, seraient comme signifiés que ces choses (beauté, nature, créativité) se trouvent partout et en tout.
