This painting was made in troubled times, attached to the end of what is known and facing the unknown. This is why most characters are looking east as a metaphorical of renewal of the Sun. The main entity is a big face in the middle of the artwork, i don’t know if you’ll see it, he looks pretty lost and face another being, both with blonde and blue hair and he hesitates on what should be the next step, this is why he’s seeking the answer in a new Sun to be, to the east. It’s also an exploration of what you’re made of, what you thought you were and what you might discover, which is why the title echoes the famous “terra incognita” expression.
Ce tableau a été réalisé dans une période troublée, attaché à la fin de ce qui est connu et face à l’inconnu. C’est pourquoi la plupart des personnages regardent vers l’est comme une métaphore du renouveau du Soleil. L’entité principale est un grand visage au milieu de l’œuvre, je ne sais pas si vous le verrez, il a l’air assez perdu et fait face à un autre être, à la fois avec des cheveux blonds et bleus et il hésite sur ce que devrait être la prochaine étape, c’est pourquoi il cherche la réponse dans un nouveau Soleil à venir, à l’est. C’est aussi une exploration de ce dont vous êtes fait, de ce que vous pensiez être et de ce que vous pourriez découvrir, c’est pourquoi le titre fait écho à la célèbre expression “terra incognita”.
