This diptych illustrates the double notion, “ex aliquo” (from something), “ex nihilo” (from nothing). As in the cells of the biological body, each relies on its other to exist. We are therefore not born from nothing, and above all we become nothing without our neighbour. That said, what about the first incarnation, did it come from “nothing”? How can this mystery be solved? The solution could be a cycle, mutiples that aggregate to form a unity – a whole, which in turn disappears, redispersing itself again, bringing the multiplicity back to life. And so on …
Ce diptyque illustre la double notion, “ex aliquo” (à partir de quelque chose), “ex nihilo” (à partir de rien). Comme dans les cellules du corps biologique, chacune s’appuie sur son autre pour exister. On ne né donc pas de rien, et surtout on ne devient rien sans son prochain. Ceci dit, qu’en est-il de la première incarnation, vient-elle de “rien” ? Comment se mystère peut-il se résoudre ? La solution pourrait être un cycle, des mutiples qui s’agrégent pour former une unité – un tout, qui a son tour disparait, en se redisperçant à nouveau, redonnant vie à la multiplicité.
